Mutinus sp. This fungus emerges from a white egg-like structure growing on rotting wood and wood debris. The fruiting body grows to about 10 cm long and 1 cm in diameter. The upper part of the structure produces a yellow-brown gleba which develops an unpleasant smell on maturity. |
