Gymnopilus crociphyllus (Sacc.) Pegler
Found on rotting logs in native bush. The cap is tawny brown and finely textured. The gills are bright mustard yellow. Cap diam: up to 60–70 mm.
Gymnopilus ferruginosus B.J. Rees
As the name suggests, this species is a rusty brown colour. The cap surface has a rough felty surface. Cap diam: up to 30–50 mm. Found on well-rotted logs and stumps.
Gymnopilus junonius (Fr.) P.D. Orton
This is a large golden brown species, common on rotting pine wood where it can grow in large groups. Cap diam: up to 90–100 mm.
