Resupinate (Crust) Fungi

These fungi grow flat against the substrate. This is a morphological grouping of many diverse and unrelated species. They are sometimes referred to as corticioid fungi. Some appear a definite crusts while others are like a splash of paint. There are many crusts which are white or cream in colour.

A small blocky crust fungus which appears on the dead fallen wood of Nothofagus.

The second image shows the appearance of the wood once the fruitifications have matured and disintegrated.

Aleurodiscus zealandicus (Cooke& W. Phillips) G. Cunn.

This is a flesh pink to salmon pink crust found on the bark of dead branches.
