Cyptotrama asprata

This is an attractive little toadstool with its bright yellow colour contrasting with the white gills. The cap diameter is about 25mm.

The cap and stalk have a shaggy appearance, which combined with the colour, make this one very easy to identify.

I have only ever found this species growing singly, on rotting twigs. This particular one was photographed in December 2001 - a wet month.
