Coprinus disseminatus

Found in large numbers, as in this photo, covering dead branches and logs. Can also be found growing in lawns where there are rotting roots of a removed tree/shrub.

Quite small - caps are about 5-7 mm diameter. Very fragile, and soon turn grey.
