I usually find these alongside tracks, growing in damp clay soils and in fairly sunny conditions.
This one was quite conspicuous with its gold colouring and orange-red discs on the ends of the shoots. These discs are the male reproductive organs.
This one was also easily recogniseable as a Breutalia with the conspicuous tips of its branches.
This species is quite easily recognised when bearing capsules. It is also found growing on exposed sunny banks.
