Family: Lejeuneaceae

Most species in this family are epiphytic.

Archilejeunea olivacea

To me, this plant is easily recognised with the dark green rounded leaves which are tightly overlapping. It is found growing in clumps on tree trunks.

Lejeuna flava

This species is usually found growing on the bark of trees, especially at the edges of bush.

It is usually a pale greenish-yellow colour.

The underside of the leaves are interesting to look at. There is a lobule on the underside of the main leaf.

The underleaf has a U-shaped sinus.
